my offerings
moontime policy
Due to my cultural and spiritual beliefs, I do not work or engage in ceremony while bleeding.
Birth and la cuarentena are ceremony, and so if I am on the first two days of my moon when you call me for labor support, I may need to send my backup doula. My moon is fairly regular and so I will be communicating with you about where I am in my own cycle. So far, I have not had to miss a birth due to my moon, but I ask that boundaries are honored.
This protocol applies to all of my offerings and is at my discretion.
For postpartum care, you will have the option to have a backup doula if possible, reschedule for another day, or simply not pay for one week of care.
For childcare, I will inform you of my availability upon scheduling. Last minute or urgent childcare needs will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
ch’ajb’eyx, thank you!
meet your doula

Traditional Community BirthKeeper & Earthen Mami
Salachon relatives. I am Ále (AH-leh), the Earthen Mami.
I am a queer multiracial Afroindígena birthkeeper, artist, and activist living on Point Eliott Treaty Territory (Seattle, WA). I come from the Maya Ch’ortí, Lenca, and Garífuna/Garínagu Indigenous & Afroindigenous peoples of Honduras through my father’s side and also carry Northwestern European ancestry. I am a radical lover, mujerísta, fur mama, auntie to twin boys, daughter, sister, niece, friend, and comrade. My birthwork is rooted in my spirituality and identity as a queer Mesoamerican Indigenous woman. I am loudly pro-Black, Brown & Indigenous, pro-Palestinian, anti-capitalist and anti-imperialist.
I speak English, Spanish, and German and am currently learning Ch’ortí Maya. I have Bachelor’s degrees in Biological Anthropology (Human Biology), where I studied the evolution of female primate sexuality and reproduction, as well as German studies.
I am a lifelong learner and am keen to learn and share the traditions of my ancestors while honoring and celebrating yours.
I aspire to become an ajk’op ch’urkab’ (midwife) and to birth and raise my own babies when the time is right.
